Q: Can Chiropractic help me?
A: Chiropractic care will benefit everyone! There has been no symptom or diagnosis that has not responded to chiropractic care. Whether you are suffering from indigestion, constipation, menstrual cramps, erectile dysfunction, infertility, asthma , migraines, burning between the shoulder blades or low back and neck pain! The degree to which chiropractic can help is dependent upon how long the problem has been there, the lifestyle of the patient and of course patient compliance. Chiropractic care can help any disease if it is caused by nerve interference. Please Click here to see a brief list of diseases that we as chiropractors can help with.

Q: Do I have to go for the rest of my life?
A: There is no set numbers of visits for each condition for Dr. Amanda to perscribe to. Every individual heals at different rates and Dr. Amanda will pay close attention to your personal progression. Once you are back to the state you were in previous to your condition, how often you come in is completely up to you!  You may either come back whenever you are in need of care, or Dr. Amanda will continue to increase the time between visits until you are coming in for preventative checkups. The choice is 100% yours. Our job is to Get You In, Get You Fixed and Get You On Your Way as fast as we can, this way there is room for the friends you will refer.

Q: I have had back surgery, can you still help me?
A: ABSOLUTELY! Because the Gonstead System is so specific we are able to adjust above and below the region of surgery without any complications. If you have been told you need back surgery for anything other than a life emergency or a broken bone, please consult Dr. Amanda. She will read over any x-rays and MRI's that you may have and if she feels you are a good candidate for chiropractic care, physical therapy, surgery or a combination of these, she will tell you. Spinal surgery should be a last resort and even then needs thorough investigation previous to surgery.

Please NOTE:
Unfortunately it is actually more common than not to have the same pain or worse pain after back surgery than you did before! In the Journal of Surgical Neurology it was stated that spine surgeons often quote a 98% success rate for fusion surgery. This percentage however refers to the success of the fusion process, NOT the reduction of pain. In fact, pain reduction is far less than that amount.
For single level fusions, the percentage obtaining significant pain relief are 40-80% while with three levels, this drops to approximately 15% (Surg Neurol 1998 Mar;49(3):263-7; discussion 267-8).

Q: Can chiropractic help me if I am pregnant?
A: Specific chiropractic care is wonderful for pregnant women. It restores optimal nerve function and allows the body to heal itself without harmful drugs and their side effects. Chiropractic care helps decrease low back pain during pregnancy, optimizes the room a baby has for development during pregnancy as well as optimizes the size of the birth canal during delivery. At Jordan Family Chiropractic, we have a specific table for adjusting pregnant women, it allows mommy to be adjusted with absolutley no pressure on her belly at all!

Fun FACTS:
Women report that in comparison with their first pregnancy, following pregnancies under chiropractic care resulted in; "Decreased morning sickness." "My low back pain was gone!" "I had fewer tension headaches during my third pregnancy." "My second delivery was much faster and more comfortable than prior to being under chiropractic care."

Q: Do you really adjust new borns?
A: The birth process; natural or assisted; can be very traumatic to an infants spine. Studies suggest that colic, unwillingness to feed, unusual sleeping patterns, constipation, ear infections and more can arise from an irritated nervous system. Specific chiropractic adjustments will remove the nerve irritation and allow baby's nervous system to function at 100%.

STUDY:
Manuelle Medizine
German Medical Journal - 1987
Studied 1,250 babies - 5 days old
- 211 babies were suffering from vomitting, hyperactivity, colic and sleeplessness
- 94.7% (200) of the babies were examined by a chiropractor and where found to have a subluxation (spinal misalignment causing nerve irritation)
- after being adjusted, ALL the babies stopped crying, their muscles relaxed and they slept
